Vienna cannot be told by one person alone. That is why we work with a small circle of colleagues we have known for years and to whom we gladly entrust our guests. All of them are state-licensed Austria Guides, each has a favourite subject, and all of them guide the way we like to experience a city ourselves: in small groups, with time and with real stories.

Martha grew up in Upper Austria and became a proud Viennese while studying comparative literature. She has written two books about her city, published by Droste Verlag, and still loves to seek out the quiet places between the big sights. From her years as a trainer and coach she brings what makes a tour special: time, attention and a feeling for what guests need at the moment.

Sebastian has been guiding since 2003 and is President of the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA). He does not want to be “Wikipedia on two legs”: what matters to him is meeting people at eye level, the guests in his group as well as the places you visit together. Facts count, but so does the atmosphere of a place, the things you can feel.
He tailors every tour, from city walks to interactive tours and smartphone rallies for families to journeys of several days along the Danube. With Guide-Training he trains tourist guides, and at artemezzo he keeps the technical threads together behind the scenes. As a city councillor in Passau he loves a good discussion; his motto: “Love it, change it or leave it.”

Ben worked for thirteen years in a large corporation before becoming a guide, and it shows: with him St. Stephen’s becomes an innovation project and Maria Theresa a leader. He guides teams, client events and congress groups in German, English and French.

Karin shows Vienna as a Viennese, also where guests rarely go: the districts across the Danube, a Heuriger in Stammersdorf or breakfast in a neighbourhood café. Her themes range from Vienna 1900 to Jewish Vienna and women’s history, and accessible tours are a matter of course for her.

Felix grew up in a castle in Upper Austria and guided visitors through his family’s history as a teenager. Today he tells the rise and fall of the Habsburgs as gladly as the story of Viennese Modernism, and he plans his walks to be accessible.
