MEETING POINT | Schwedenplatz, Twin City Liner pier
No two capitals lie as close together as Vienna and Bratislava: 60 kilometres of Danube, 75 minutes by fast boat. We take the Twin City Liner from Schwedenplatz downstream, past the Lobau and the Danube Floodplains National Park, and dock below the castle. As Pressburg, Bratislava was the Hungarian coronation city for 250 years; Maria Theresa was crowned here, and in an hour the old town tells of Habsburgs, communism and the young Slovakia. Castle with Danube view, Michael’s Gate, main square, the UFO bridge, lunch with bryndzové halušky, and in the afternoon back by boat or train.
Meeting point Schwedenplatz, Twin City Liner (75 min.), climb to the castle, old town on foot, lunch, free time or the Blue Church, return by boat or by train from Bratislava main station (1 hr), arrival in Vienna around 4 to 5 pm. Bring your passport or ID card.
Guide fee € 750 per group (7 hrs). Per person additionally: Twin City Liner (around € 35 one way), train back (around € 12), castle (around € 12) and lunch, fares confirmed with your request. For four guests around € 250 per person including boat, train and castle. Variant with minivan and driver instead of boat and train: plus € 660 per group.
