If you only have one day in Vienna, you want to see both: the old town around St. Stephen’s and the palace where Maria Theresa spent her summers. On this day a private Austria Guide takes you from the heart of the city to its edge, without rushing and without queuing. In the morning we walk the lanes in which Vienna has been growing since the Middle Ages, from St. Stephen’s via the Graben and Kohlmarkt to the Hofburg, the Habsburg residence for more than 600 years. In the afternoon Schönbrunn awaits: the state rooms in a reserved time slot and the gardens with the view up to the Gloriette. In between there is a proper lunch break to taste Vienna, and a quarter of an hour on the underground to let the morning’s stories settle.
Meeting at 9.30 am on Stephansplatz. About two and a half hours through the city centre: St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Graben with the Plague Column, Kohlmarkt, Michaelerplatz, through the Hofburg to Heldenplatz, on to the Albertina and the State Opera. Lunch break in a Beisl or coffeehouse to your taste; we are happy to reserve a table. By U4 from Karlsplatz to Schönbrunn, about 15 minutes. There, a walk through the palace gardens and the Highlight Tour of the state rooms in a reserved time slot. Finish around 3.30 pm in the main courtyard, with time for the Gloriette or a slice of cake. The exact times follow the time slot at Schönbrunn.
Guide fee € 635 per tour for up to 6 hours (up to 10 guests) or € 750 for up to 7 hours, plus admission for the Highlight Tour at Schönbrunn, € 34 per person (children aged 6 to 18 € 19). For two guests € 703, for four € 771, admission included.

No, the day is built to carry you: two and a half hours on foot in the morning, a proper lunch break, garden and palace in the afternoon. If you prefer a gentler pace, book seven hours.
By U4 from Karlsplatz to Schönbrunn station, about 15 minutes. On request we arrange a minivan with driver who also takes you back to your hotel at the end.
No. We suggest a Beisl or coffeehouse along the way, reserve a table and tell you what to order there. Whether your guide joins you at the table or leaves you the hour to yourselves is up to you.
Yes, mornings at Schönbrunn are often quieter. We set the order according to the time slot we reserve for you.
Yes. Children aged 6 to 18 pay € 19 admission at Schönbrunn. With children we plan shorter walks and, if you like, the zoo instead of the state rooms.
For private tours our cancellation terms apply: up to 14 days before the tour we charge 20% of the price as a flat fee for organisation, from 14 to 7 days before 50%, after that or in case of a no-show the full amount. Yes, our tours take place in any weather. When it rains we adapt the programme wherever possible and gladly plan a break somewhere dry. In case of a storm we will contact you before the tour and agree together on how to proceed.
