At Gasthaus Steman, things are lively — especially at lunchtime, when the room fills up and hardly a seat remains free. The interior is simple, with the focus on what happens here every day: good food, served promptly and without fuss. Many guests come regularly, some for years, while others discover Steman precisely when they are looking for authentic Viennese cuisine.

On the plates are classics you don’t find everywhere: Schinkenfleckerl, goulash, boiled beef, and, depending on the season, chanterelles or other seasonal dishes. Schnitzel is, of course, part of the offering, but it is not the only reason to come here. You come for the classics — and stay for the dishes that have become rare on menus elsewhere.
