Two lanes behind St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Vienna goes quiet. In the Blutgasse quarter, Pawlatschen, open galleries around the courtyards, still lead to the flats as was once common in Vienna; in the Heiligenkreuzerhof you hear the city only from afar; and in the Greek quarter on Fleischmarkt two churches and a Beisl tell of the merchants who came to Vienna from the Ottoman Empire in the 18th century. Through passageways you would never find on your own we reach the old university quarter and the Jesuit Church with its painted dome, which is not a dome at all. This tour is for everyone who already knows Vienna, or thinks they do.
Meeting point on Stephansplatz, to the left of the cathedral’s main entrance. Through Blutgasse and Domgasse, past the house where Mozart wrote “The Marriage of Figaro”, to the Heiligenkreuzerhof and the Schönlaterngasse, on to Fleischmarkt with the Greek church and through passageways to the old university quarter with the Jesuit Church and the Academy of Sciences. With three hours we add the Hoher Markt with the remains of the Roman camp and a small wine tasting in a cellar.

For private tours our cancellation terms apply: up to 14 days before the tour we charge 20% of the price as a flat fee for organisation, from 14 to 7 days before 50%, after that or in case of a no-show the full amount. Yes, our tours take place in any weather. When it rains we adapt the programme wherever possible and gladly plan a break somewhere dry. In case of a storm we will contact you before the tour and agree together on how to proceed.
