Bonbons Anzinger is one of Vienna’s shops with history: a small sweet shop on Albertinaplatz, diagonally across from the Albertina, of the kind every neighbourhood once had and hardly any still has. Shelves of jars, truffles and pralines, Mozartkugeln, Sisi coins, candied flowers, much of it weighed out and filled into bags.
It is the counterpart to the show production: no oven, no demonstration, just a place where Viennese candy culture simply lives on. For guests looking for old Vienna, the shop is a small journey in time, right on the way between the Opera and the Hofburg.
