MEETING POINT | by arrangement in the city centre
Vienna has 600 hectares of vineyards within the city limits, and Gemischter Satz exists only here. On this tour we taste it where the Viennese drink it: in wine bars with vaulted cellars beneath the old town and in a bar that pours winemakers from Grinzing, Nussdorf and Stammersdorf. Plus Grüner Veltliner, a Zweigelt and a snack of Liptauer, bacon and bread. Your guide tells of the Heuriger that Joseph II invented, of the pine branch over the door, and of how a city defended its vineyards against developers.
For the real Heuriger in the vineyard: the wine hike from Kahlenberg to Nussdorf is the sequel to this tour.
All inclusive: for 4 guests € 123 per person, for 2 guests € 210. Composition: guide fee € 350 per group (2.5 hrs) plus wine package € 35 per person for four glasses and a snack.
