Around 1900 Vienna became, for a few years, the laboratory of modernism. Otto Wagner built the Stadtbahn and the Postal Savings Bank, Adolf Loos put a house “without eyebrows” opposite the emperor’s palace, Klimt and his friends left the Künstlerhaus and built themselves the Secession. On this walk we see the originals where they stand: on the Ringstrasse, on Karlsplatz, in the city centre. It is about facades, door handles and coffeehouse tables, about Freud, Mahler and Schnitzler, and about why such a short period still shapes the city today.
From the Postal Savings Bank via Stubenring and Stadtpark to Karlsplatz (Stadtbahn pavilions, Secession, Café Museum), through the city centre to the Looshaus and the American Bar, finishing on Michaelerplatz. With three hours, additionally the Majolica House on the Wienzeile and the Naschmarkt.
Guide fee € 270 per tour (2 hrs) or € 350 (3 hrs), no admissions. For two guests € 135 per person, for four € 68.

Leopold Museum, Belvedere or MAK as a second part (as a ready-made half day: Vienna 1900 Half Day with the Leopold Museum), the Ringstrasse with the Palais Ephrussi when you book three hours, coffee break at Café Museum or Café Sperl. If Freud, Mahler or the Wittgensteins interest you in particular, tell us in the booking and the route follows your interests.

On request. The Beethoven Frieze is worth the admission; we allow an extra 30 minutes for it.

About four kilometres in two hours, with many stops. Comfortable shoes are enough.
Yes. With three hours we add the Ringstrasse with the Palais Ephrussi and the University, on request also Berggasse 19 (Freud Museum, admission on site) or the Jewish Vienna of the Gründerzeit. Tell us in the booking who interests you and we lay out the route accordingly.
Very well. The walk in the morning, then after a coffeehouse break the museum: Schiele and Klimt's “Death and Life” at the Leopold Museum, “The Kiss” at the Belvedere. You book each as its own tour and we align the times.
For private tours our cancellation terms apply: up to 14 days before the tour we charge 20% of the price as a flat fee for organisation, from 14 to 7 days before 50%, after that or in case of a no-show the full amount. If your plans change, please let us know as early as possible and we will look for a solution together. You will find all details in our terms and conditions.
Yes, our tours take place in any weather. When it rains we adapt the programme wherever possible and gladly plan a break somewhere dry. In case of a storm we will contact you before the tour and agree together on how to proceed.
