The story

The Wiener Silber Manufactur dates back to 1882 and has preserved the Wiener Werkstätte archive in silver: Josef Hoffmann’s lattice bowls, Otto Prutscher’s jugs, the cutlery that lay on the tables of Viennese salons around 1900. These designs are still made today, with the same techniques.

Added to them are works by today’s designers who rethink the material. The showroom on Spiegelgasse is quiet and bright; you walk between the cabinets as through an exhibition, except that you may touch the pieces.

Hoffmann designed 120 years ago what looks modern today. The silver remembered.
