Prince Eugene built the Belvedere as his summer residence; today Austria’s most famous painting hangs here. Gustav Klimt’s “The Kiss” is the destination, but not the end: his society portraits and landscapes, Egon Schiele’s families, Oskar Kokoschka’s wind, the Biedermeier Viennese and the Marble Hall where the State Treaty was signed in 1955.
