The walk that helps you understand Vienna. We start at St. Stephen’s Cathedral, whose south tower has looked out over the rooftops since the Middle Ages, and walk along the Graben, where the Plague Column recalls the year 1679, to the Kohlmarkt, where jewellers and the court confectioner still share the address. On Michaelerplatz the Michaeler Gate of the Hofburg and the Looshaus face each other, two worlds on one square. Through the Hofburg, the Habsburg residence for more than 600 years, we reach Heldenplatz, then continue via Josefsplatz to the Albertina and the State Opera. Along the way your private Austria Guide tells of emperors and cooks, master builders and petitioners, and of how this city lives today.
Meeting point on Stephansplatz, to the left of the cathedral’s main entrance; on request we pick you up at your hotel in the city centre. Two hours are enough for the walk to the State Opera. With three hours we go inside St. Stephen’s and take a coffeehouse break, with four hours we add a museum, for example the Imperial Apartments with the Sisi Museum or the State Hall of the National Library.

For private tours our cancellation terms apply: up to 14 days before the tour we charge 20% of the price as a flat fee for organisation, from 14 to 7 days before 50%, after that or in case of a no-show the full amount. Yes, our tours take place in any weather. When it rains we adapt the programme wherever possible and gladly plan a break somewhere dry. In case of a storm we will contact you before the tour and agree together on how to proceed.
